Hipex engineered and manufactured a heat exchanger system that utilised both tubular and plate heat exchangers. Tubes were used to heat to high temperatures, while the plate heat exchanger was used for heat recovery and cooling. The system was designed to feed a carbonator at a rate of up to 50,000 litres per hour at a high discharge pressure. Simultaneously, it could contain the small particles found in fruit drinks.
