Chilli Sauce Processing

1. The Challenge

A client required a unit that could deaerate and process sweet chilli sauce aseptically. Due to the product’s tendency for blocking, a single product path was required.

2. The Hipex Solution

The unit that was designed and manufactured included a vacuum tank for pre-heating the sauce. Heating and cooling were accomplished using multiple-pass shell and tube heat exchangers with no parallel tubes. Corrugated tubes were also used, which reduced the possibility of blockage while increasing thermal performance.
